General campsite regulations

Pursuant to the court injunction of 1st of July 2014 (1) for the properties of NEUHAUS MANOR FARM Ltd., are issued the following general campsite regulations, 1st of November 2024.

It is not the aim of these regulations to regiment the understanding and considerate camper. The regulations make no out-of-the-way demands beyond the basic courtesies essential to ensure good neighbourliness and restful holidays. A self-respecting camper will discuss problems with his neighbours. Only when discussion of this kind fails to bring the required result will he get in touch with the reception.

01 Observation of regulations

  • Campers on our site are required unconditionally to accept and implicitly to observe the general camping regulations (1.1.) together with the special regulations and the traffic signalization.
  • Appropriate observation of these camping regulations by campers and visitors on adjoining private and, in particular, public land is an important condition for accordance by the reception staff of the right of access and to use the installations.

02 Right of access

  • Only those who have been given explicit permission to enter the area and who have paid the fees in accordance with the tariffs posted at the reception desk have right of access.
  • Right of access can be withdrawn by the management at any time subsequent to violation of the camping regulations.

03 Right to use installations, liability to payment of dues

  • Right of access entitles the camper or visitor to his share in the use of the camp installations and facilities, footpaths and the beach. Payment of the appropriate rent entitles him to exclusive use of the units rented.
  • The camper must station everything – car, tent, caravan, boat, surfboard, etc. – within the limits of the rented plot.
  • Unless otherwise agreed in advance, the maximum number of people allowed per plot is six.
  • The maximum number of people permitted for groups spread across several plots outside the group zone is eight.
  • The right to use the installations and tenancy end daily at 12 noon and are automatically renewed for 24 hours at the same hour failing any indication to the contrary on the part of tenant or reception. Liability to pay rent commences at 12 noon and ends when the camper vacates his unit. The basis for assessment of the total rent is the number of days (full or partial) of the entitlement to use the installations.
  • Separate rents are payable for plots (including personal, tourist and dog taxes), special parking lots, boat moorings, surfboard stands and private cabins. Electricity is also char-geable separately.
  • Rents are normally payable on departure although the management can request payment in advance.

04 Maintenance of the plot

  • Any change in or damage to the plot, including the heaping up of gravel, digging of ditches and laying of paving stones is prohibited. The reception desk is to be informed in cases of flood.
  • The camper is responsible for keeping his plot clean and tidy and for protecting the plants, trees and bushes.

05 Visitors

  • People visiting campers are requested to register at the reception desk and pay the appropriate fees.
  • Visitors are asked to park their cars according to the instructions received at the reception desk.
  • Visitors spending the night on the camp site are requested to pay the appropriate charges in advance.

06 Children and juveniles

  • Small children need careful supervision. Children under 6 years of age are allowed to use the toilets only in the company of an adult.
  • Small children must not be left alone near the lake, the river or the road.
  • Juveniles under 18 years of age may camp only when accompanied by their parents.

07 Dogs

  • Dogs and other domestic animals do not properly belong on a camp site. They are therefore tolerated only with reservation. The owners would be well advised to study the spe-cial instructional leaflet for dog owners.
  • Dogs must be kept on a lead. Calls of nature must be attended to only in the woods, well away from the footpaths. Dogs are not allowed on the beach or in the toilet buildings. They may not swim in either the river or the lake.

08 Vehicles, signalization

  • With the exception of the drive to and away from the rented plot, driving is prohibited on the camp site.
  • Riding around on motorcycles and mopeds is entirely prohibited.
  • The maximum speed limit for all vehicles is 10 k.p.h.
  • The traffic signalization is an integral part of the camping regulations. Thus, pedestrians are explicitly forbidden to cross the road near the reception. The use of the pedestrian subway is mandatory.

09 Water protection

  • It is forbidden to pour any water into storm flow drains or on to the ground.
  • All waste water is to be emptied into the «sinks for waste water». There are also special points where chemical toilets have to be emptied. Every possible care should be taken to maintain hygienic conditions at these points.
  • Waste water containing faeces must be emptied into the «disposal points for chemical toilets».
  • Cars and motorcycles may be washed only on the special platform available for this purpose.
  • Refuse is to be deposited in the container dustbins available for this purpose.
  • The collection point for used mercury batteries is in the camp site shop.

10 Use of the installations and facilities

Abuse of the installations, i.e. the use thereof for purposes others than for which they were designed, or damaging or forcing thereof are strictly prohibited.

All installations are to be left spotlessly clean after use.

11 Hours of quiet

  • Absolute silence must reign from 22.00 (CE summer time 23.00) until 06.00h. During this time the driving of vehicles is prohibited and total silence is to be observed. Radio playing and all other sources of noise are strictly prohibited.
  • From 23.00 until 06.00h the barriers will remain closed.

  • At all other times disturbances such as loud radios, open fires, annoying games and alike are also prohibited.
  • It is strictly prohibited to let off any kind of fireworks whatsoever on the camp site and in its neighbourhood.

12 Liability, insurances

  • The lessor is not a landlord within the meaning of Art. 487-489 of the Swiss Code of Obligations in so far as operation of the campsite is concerned. The lessor’s liability is limited to any material and personal damage caused by the firm leasing the camp site or by the members of its staff.
  • Valuables may be given to the reception desk for safekeeping.
  • The bathing beaches, the car parks near the reception, the restaurant and the ancient zoological garden are not supervised.

13 Post, telephone calls

Information for campers concerning letters or telephone calls will be given by reception. No strict obligation can be accepted by reception in regard to the transmission of telephone messages received although this is generally done.

14 Supervision, sanctions, complaints

  • The management’s instructions and those issued by its superintendents on the site are to be obeyed.
  • Failure to observe the camping regulations and special regulations can involve demands by the management for damages, costs compensation from the camp site and char-ges brought under the court injunction.
